The latest home improvement project involved 6 cu. yds of topsoil.

And three Kings & Queens of the Mountain!
(and lots of bath days!)

Tanner and Elena made 2-D images of themselves today. My favorite part of the pictures (which doesn't show up in the photo) is the face on Tanner...which includes a nose! It's the first time I've ever seen him put a nose on a face that he's drawn!

You've heard of "Weekend Warriors"--the guys that head out to the basketball court on Saturdays and play until they drop. Well, our sorts of weekend wars are with projects... On Tuesday the supplies were purchased. On Wednesday they were delivered (by a cool tractor trailer that turned into a fork-lift when it was separated from the trailer!). On Thursday we called Indiana Dig. On Friday they marked the buried cables. And on Saturday, whew! Rent an auger, dig some holes, work until Conference starts. The minute conference is over go back outside! There was a third (and fourth) project...the "moon lander" base footers were dug and cemented. And the front walkway planting bed expansion was started. We are tired, but very happy, "weekend warriors".

Sunday morning in spring. The daffodils are starting to bloom.

The cardinals are singing in the trees (way up high, there he was, singing away!).

And the children think it's time to swim!

As an April Fool's Day treat, Grandma and Grandpa M. sent the kids dirt and worms to eat!

Chocolate pudding! Loved and eaten by three kids and two parents.

Oreo cookies. Lovingly opened by Tanner. Filling scraped out by Mom. Filling eaten by everyone except Dad ('cause we ate it all before he got home!). Cookies (aka dirt) eaten on the side by Elena, who is not fond of "crunchies" in her food, and not eaten by Tanner (go figure!).

Gummy Worms. Mom ate one. Alia ate four. Tanner and Elena avoided them! Martin's worms disappeared at some point, so I think he ate them. Ewww! Daddy ate worms!

Thanks for the yummy treat! :)
