The time has come.
The time is now.
Elena, Alia, Tanner
you must go now.

...and off they went.

The crazy piece of the day was Martin, who was focused on another project, but grabbed Elena's hand and hurried her off to the bus when he heard it come. The two of them were halfway across our damp lawn when I saw them out the window and called to them. It took a moment or two for Martin to realize that our bus rider had already made it to the bus stop and he was trying to get our walker to catch the bus! Score one for crazy mornings!

They headed out again (on foot!) a few minutes later.

Alia's new bus stop is our driveway. I like that! It's easy to see her and make sure that she gets on ok. I think that she will be dropped off here at home too. We'll find out in a couple of hours.

Tanner looks so cool and calm in this picture. This is his second year at the same school. His bus stop is the same. He knows his routine. Life is great!

Here's to the new school year!

School is getting ready to start. Tanner & Alia have grown enough that they needed new hats.

Alia's hat is a "Non-scratchy" acrylic--and it is yellow, her favorite color.

Tanner requested a turquoise hat and picked two balls of hand dyed, handspun wool for his hat. As I sketched various stripe options, he told me that the two yarns were to be used one after the other and woven together. It looks great! I love it when my children's artistic ideas work out!

Elena has requested a pink hat. She may or may not get it before snow flies. Unfortunately from her perspective, she is the youngest and smallest of the three kids and there may already be plenty of hats in her size!...But I may knit her one anyway!
