First Concert

Elena's first concert performance was this week.  She did a great job.  She smiled.  She sang.  She played an instrument.

Some of the songs included a Chinese school song (in Chinese and English), a Spanish/English/ESL song (all I remember of it right now is the "arco iris" or rainbow part!), and many Mother Goose rhymes set to music.  One that Elena likes to sing is "Wee Willy Winky" (running through the town, upstairs, downstairs in his nightgown...). Almost all the songs included words and motions.
The music teacher had each class take a turn on the xylophones during the Chinese school song.  It was fun to see them play.

Good job, miss Elena!  Your concert was great fun!

Fine Arts Night & Concert

Tonight was Fine Arts night and a music program at Tanner's school.  He sang and did the motions for all the songs.  He also helped make the artwork for the evening.

Here's the pre-program shot:

New Doll

Elena got a new doll recently.  She saw the body in my stash, asked if she could have it and if she could use sharpie markers to draw the face.  Then she brought the doll back and asked for "green yarn" for hair.  Luckily for Mom, the blue-green handspun was close enough to the desired color!

The doll has finger nails, toe nails, a belly button and two tattoos (the extra smiley faces on her cheeks).  She is wearing some of the clothes from one of Elena's fashion dolls.

Tonight I believe that this little dolly is sleeping in a slipper in a box near Elean's bed.  Sleep well, little one.  :)
